Climate Cohesion Foundation took part in tree planting exercise at Kipsitet Primary School in Soin Ward, Kericho County.
 
A total of 10,000 tree seedling were donated and planted in various schools within the ward. The event was meant to commemorate the world environment day which was scheduled for 5th June 2023.
 
 
The convenor of the event, Vicky Betty Chepkorir emphasized to the resident on the need to grow trees so as to mitigate the effects of global warming.
 
The Kericho County CEC  for Water, Environment, Energy, Natural Resources and Forestry also reiterated on the emphasis of tree growing and the County’s resolve to promote tree growing as a way to mitigate environmental challenges being experienced around the world.
 

Vicky went on to mention that the impacts of climate change are already being felt around the world, and they are expected to become more severe in the future. We need to take action now to address climate change and mitigate its impacts .
